So the short review: This book is amazing!

The real review: This book has changed my life. I do not say this lightly at all. I listened to this on Audible. She reads her own book and it has ruined me for all other audiobooks! She read with so much passion that you could feel it resonating through the speakers. I haven’t heard another audiobook like it. Rachel Hollis wrote from such a place of love and honesty that I couldn’t stop listening. I listened in the car, during my kids nap time, while cooking dinner, and even while I was taking a shower. I’m going to call her Rachel because I hear her voice so much in my head that I honestly think we could be best friends in real life.

As she writes the book, she tells of lies that she used to believe and how she overcame them. She uses her gift of storytelling to give a glimpse into her past, present, and future. She talks about body image, death of a family member, relationships and so much more. I love that she would use ‘tough love’ to get you to switch your mindset. She shows throughout the book that so many situations could be overcome with a shift in how see the world and how you live your life. Her voice is in my head at the gym at 5am.

She talks so much about how she achieved her dreams. This is the message of the book that struck me so hard. I have been overweight my entire life. If I could’ve changed anything about myself, my weight would be it. I will start a diet and do well for two weeks and then I have a bad day and binge eat. Which is so sad, because I cook so healthy and live a healthy lifestyle but my emotions get the best of me. . But since I read this book, I am starting to replace my unhealthy habits with healthy ones. I finally got the gym membership that I’ve talked about it for 6 months. I’ve lost 8 pounds and I don’t feel deprived. I finally see myself as strong. I see myself as enough.

I can’t believe that one book has made such an impact in my life. I am so thankful for Rachel and her words. I wish I could hug her for all the encouragement.

Please check out this book! I loved listening to her read the book to me. If you have never signed up for Audible, let this book be your first free audiobook! I promise you won’t regret it! I hope it changes your life like it did mine.

Thank you so much for reading my review,
